Peter Munya Vows to Decline President Ruto’s Offers

Party of National Unity leader Peter Munya has firmly stated his intentions to decline any offers from President William Ruto’s administration.

In a recent statement, Munya emphasized his commitment to working directly with Kenyans to bring about necessary changes.

Munya explained that it would be more prudent to chart a different political path rather than accepting a position that would involve supporting a government he believes many citizens have issues with.

“I’ve not been offered any position and even if I’m offered, I will decline,” Munya asserted.

“I think I am better off working with Kenyans to bring the changes that we require than going in there to strengthen a government a lot of people have issues with.”

Munya’s declaration comes in the wake of political speculation and shifts within Azimio la Umoja after President Ruto rocked the opposition’s boat dangling goodies for its senior members.

Recently, Munya has been in the news for his plans to distance himself from Raila Odinga’s Azimio la Umoja coalition after he demanded an explanation from the position chief.

In a statement on Monday, July 29, the PNU party leader disclosed that there will be a party meeting this week to deliberate on the way forward in terms of their existence in the Azimio la Umoja Coalition.

“Next Thursday, there will be a party meeting where we will decide our stance regarding our relationship with the Azimio coalition.

Munya insists that the PNU is prepared to serve effectively in the opposition.

“However, they must make a clear decision whether to remain in opposition or join the government. As PNU, we believe we can effectively serve in the opposition,” Munya emphasized.

In his comments, Munya made it clear that his focus remains steadfast on grassroots initiatives and addressing the needs of the Kenyan people directly.
