Apple is reportedly working on updated versions of its Magic Mouse, Magic Trackpad, and Magic Keyboard, according to code found in the iOS 18.1 release candidate by MacRumors contributor Aaron Perris. The new versions, dubbed Magic Mouse 2, Magic Trackpad 2, and Magic Keyboards, are expected to come with USB-C ports, aligning with Apple’s ongoing transition from Lightning to USB-C across its devices.
The updated Magic Keyboard will have several variants, including models with Touch ID and number pads, as well as options without these features. Although details about additional upgrades are scarce, Apple may address long-standing complaints, such as the charging port location on the Magic Mouse, which has been criticized for its placement on the bottom of the device.
Apple is expected to launch these refreshed accessories alongside the upcoming M4 Mac models, which could include updated MacBook Pro, Mac mini, and iMac versions, rumored to be released later in October.
